Fortnite X Regular Show Collab

Fortnite X Regular Show Collab Skins: Will There Ever Be a Crossover Event?

A recent fanmade “What If?” concept video has made some fans ask if there will ever be Fortnite X Regular Show collab skins with some kind of crossover event between both properties. Given the success of the game’s collaboration with Rick and Morty, there might be a chance to see more popular properties in the vast Cartoon Network catalog. But how likely would this be?

Will there be a Fortnite X Regular Show collaboration?

João Filipe Santiago, a Brazilian CG artist and 3D/2D animator, created a fantastic mock video (posted above) of what a Fortnite item shop would look like if it had a Regular Show crossover. Creating Blender models and animations of the cartoon’s favorite characters, he highlights a skins of Mordecai with Rigby playing keyboard on his back and Skips with the Hi Five Ghost as a companion. He also cleverly makes a Skips Forever emote, a Fists of Justice harvesting tool, and a brilliant OOOHH! emote that has Rigby and Mordecai raving with their arms raised. Near the end of the video he shows off Mordecai falling to the ground but then getting picked up by way of Rigby hamboning.

As amazing as the video is, though, it’s unlikely that Epic Games would pick Regular Show for a future collaboration, at least in the immediate future. While the animated sitcom still has a strong nostalgia factor and would fit the wacky Fortnite vibe very well, it hasn’t aired in a long time. After eight successful seasons with over 250 total episodes on Cartoon Network, the last episode of the main series was in January 2017. Fortnite rightfully tends to pick collabs with properties that are fresh and current, and if they aren’t, then they have to be massively popular like Naruto.

A Fortnite survey on possible collabs sent to players around June 18, 2022 shows that Regular Show didn’t make the list for “Cartoons and Anime” or “TV Shows” categories. But all hope is not lost. While Regular Show can’t really compete against, say, Dragon Ball Z or Pokemon (which are both on the list), it can be put into the mix against Princess Mononoke and Chucky. If enough fans ask Epic Games for a Regular Show collaboration either on Twitter or through the surveys, it isn’t out of the question. With enough interest, perhaps by retweeting Santiago’s awesome work, this could happen someday.

In other news, Mirror’s Edge 3 won’t be happening because DICE seemingly has no time due to Battlefield 2042, and Xbox Game Pass will be adding Far Cry 5, FIFA 22, and more later in June.
