Kenobi: Is Flea From Red Hot Chili Peppers In It?

Kenobi features a bunch of new additions to the Star Wars universe, but Red Hot Chili Pepper fans have noted that one particular character appears to be portrayed by bassist Flea. So, is Flea in the new Star Wars series, and if so, how did that happen?

Is Flea from RHCP in Kenobi?

Yes, that is indeed Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers in the first two episodes of Kenobi. The RHCP bassist appears as Princess Leia Organa’s kidnapper as ‘Vect’, who sets Kenobi off on the series of events that forces him to leave Tattooine and his post watching over Luke Skywalker.

Flea, real name Michael Peter Balzary, may have surprised viewers with his appearance in Kenobi, but this isn’t the first acting role for the musician. He has appeared in a bunch of films, TV shows, and animated series over the years, including Baby Driver, Back to the Future Part II, and American Dad. However, his role in Kenobi may be one of the biggest yet, with him having been hired by the ‘Third Sister’ and villainous Inquisitor Reva to kidnap the young Leia in order to force the Jedi Obi-Wan out of hiding.

Reva is shown to have a particular obsession with Kenobi throughout the early episodes of the show, with her being focused on hunting down the reclusive Jedi as part of the Inquisitors’ role to make the Force-wielders extinct. As part of the plan to force Obi-Wan out of hiding, Reva enlists Flea’s bounty hunter to capture Leia Organa, to get Obi-Wan off the planet of Tattooine and into the galaxy’s seedy underbelly.

We’ll have to wait to see how Reva’s plan continues to unfold and what the future holds for Obi-Wan and Leia. Kenobi is set to broadcast on Disney Plus weekly as a six-part event.

In other news, here’s what to watch to get yourself up to speed with Kenobi. A new PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S are also reportedly coming out soon.
