Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Release Date rumors

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Release Date Rumors, Leaks, News, and More

Fans were hoping to hear an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 release date as the limited series concluded. However, Disney is keeping us in the dark as to what the future holds for now. We’ll take a look at what we know about a second season of Kenobi and whether there have been any leaks about it.

Will there be an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 release date?

As of writing, there’s no release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2. Furthermore, a second season of the show hasn’t even been confirmed. It’s possible that it will remain a limited series, and we won’t see more episodes produced. That’s what seems to be happening to The Book of Boba Fett, so it’s not unprecedented.

The more likely scenario is that Reva will get her own series. It’s obvious that Disney is pushing the character heavily. However, Disney has been quick to cut its losses with the franchise, as we saw when the poor performance of Solo caused management to reassess its plans for future films. Despite the sixth episode’s warm reception, the series as a whole received mixed reactions due to continuity issues, pacing, and plotholes. So, Disney may decide against any Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-offs.

If we do get a second season, it will likely be a few years down the road. Over the next year, we have seasons of Andor, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew releasing on Disney Plus. We also have Taika Waititi’s anthology film coming in late 2023, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release in the same year. So, needless to say, Star Wars will be at max saturation with little room for a second season of Obi-Wan.

There also haven’t been any leaks concerning the future of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hayden Christiansen will be playing Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka, so he could be on hand for shoots of a second season. We know that he and Ewan McGregor are amiable to revisiting their characters again. Still, neither has hinted that season two of Kenobi is on its way.
