Elden Ring Nepheli Questline After Ashes

Elden Ring Nepheli Locations Questline: What to Do After Giving Her the Ashes

Players have been struggling to find an end to the Nepheli Loux questline in Elden Ring. After a certain point, her story just ends with no resolution. We’ll take a look at whether she goes to a new location when players give her the ashes or not.

Does the Nepheli questline continue after giving her the ashes in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring Nepheli

Update: Ironically, just after writing this, FromSoftware released a patch that fixes Nepheli’s questline. Players can trigger the next part once players give her The Storm King ashes and take Kenneth Haight to his fort.

From my testing, I believe players need to rest at a Site of Grace several times for Nepheli, Kenneth, and Gostoc to move into the Stormveil Castle throne room. An easy way to check this is to rest at the Godrick Site of Grace and watch Gostoc kicking Godrick’s body in the distance. Then, when he disappears, players will know that the last part of the questline has triggered.

Unfortunately, Nepheli’s quest doesn’t continue after giving her the Stormhawk King. Players first meet her in Stormveil Castle, and after speaking with her, they can summon her to help in the fight against Godrick the Grafted. Afterward, they’ll find her in the Roundtable Hold. She’ll explain that she’s the adopted daughter of Gideon Ofnir before departing again.

Players will next find Nepheli near the Village of the Albinaurics. She swears to find vengeance for those who suffered in the village. However, when players return to the Roundtable Hold, they’ll meet Nepheli again. She’ll reveal Gideon was the one who ordered the attack on the village. He’s disowned her for killing his underlings and cast her away. She falls into a depression and remains in the Roundtable Hold for the rest of the game.

Players can perk her up a bit by obtaining The Stormhawk King ashes from the Church of Anticipation and giving them to her. She’ll thank the player for giving them to her and tell them the smell of the ashes reminds her of her first hawk. After that, she’ll get no new dialogue.

Many players thought this seemed like an abrupt end to her quest, and they were right. The last part of her quest is either extremely bugged or cut content. After getting the ashes, she would have become the new Lady of Limgrave, and players could meet her in the throne room with Kenneth Haight at Stormveil Castle. Her final conversation was datamined and is still in the game, albeit inaccessible:

“It’s been some time.

I must thank you, for your aid.

I told father I would be with him no longer.

I remembered the vow I took when I first became a warrior, so many moons ago.

This land is much like the one from which I hail.

I will call upon the storm, to drive away the foulness that has settled on the winds.

Again, I am Nepheli Loux. Warrior.

Some call me by the title of Lady, but I remain the same woman underneath.

Though I have now abandoned my former guidance.

I cannot express how much you’ve helped me.

Should you become Elden Lord.

I would gladly lighten your burden.

Farewell, fellow warrior.

I will remain, to summon the storm.

But your guidance, and your fight…

Surely lie elsewhere.”

So, Nepheli was meant to take Godrick’s place as ruler of Limgrave. Hopefully, FromSoftware will restore this quest in a future patch since the assets are already in the game.
