Elden Ring Kenneth Haight Questline Locations: Where to Find a Good and Stalwart Lord

Kenneth Haight will be one of the first NPCs players meet in Elden Ring. He’s also one of the only humans left in the Lands Between that doesn’t immediately attack the player on sight. Unfortunately, his questline is one of the more confusing ones in the game, and players will wonder if there are any other locations in which he’s supposed to appear.

Does Kenneth Haight’s quest continue in Elden Ring after Fort Haight?

Elden Ring Left Dectus Medallion Location Fort Haight

In Elden Ring, Kenneth Haight is a noble who claims to be the next in line to rule Limgrave. He asks players to clean out a detachment of Godrick’s troops that have occupied Fort Haight in the southeast Mistwoods. After players do so (and find the Dectus Medallion half inside), Kenneth will reward them with an Erdsteel Dagger and promises to knight the player if they visit him at the fort and agree to enter his service.

Kenneth can then be found at the top of his fort, lamenting its condition. He says that Godrick is unfit to rule Limgrave, and he’ll need to find a replacement.

“But now, I must begin my search post-haste. For a true and stalwart Lord of the proper lineage to take the reigns of Limgrave.”

So this is where things get confusing because Kenneth will never leave Fort Haight. He’ll remain in the same place no matter how many times he’ll claim to start his pilgrimage to find the next lord of Limgrave. Almost every other NPC that says they’re going somewhere or doing something will appear in a different location later, but not Kenneth. Unfortunately, it’s up to the player to do Kenneth’s job for him.

In the original release of Elden Ring the latter half of Kenneth’s quest is either bugged or one of those that was cut from the game. Fortunately, it was restored to working order in an update. Kenneth Haight’s quest can now continue past Fort Haight, and reach its intended conclusion. To progress, players need to make sure they’ve reached the point where they can give Nepheli The Storm King ashes. Once she’s got them, players need to rest at a Site of Grace a few times to trigger Kenneth moving to the throne room of Stormveil Castle. The easiest way to do this is to head to the Site of Grace that appeared when players defeated Godrick and watch Gostoc in the distance. Once he disappears, players will know the final step in this questline has triggered.
