Dying Light 2 Sprint: How to run fast

Getting around the world of Dying Light 2 isn’t easy, and not just because of the obvious dangers. Instead, many players simply feel like they move too slowly. Other games include an option to sprint, allowing you to run at speed and on command. But does Dying Light 2 have a sprint button? Is there any way to run, or at least move more quickly?

How to Sprint in Dying Light 2

There is no button to sprint in Dying Light 2. Instead, the game has a few skills that allow you to dash or temporarily move more quickly. However, these skills don’t directly increase your base movement speed; they mostly rely on Stamina and Parkour skills.

In other words, if you want to run faster, you’ll need to invest in specific abilities. By using your Parkour talents, you’ll eventually be able to unlock new abilities through the Skills menu. If you’re looking to get around more quickly, three skills in particular will be useful:

  • Dart will increase your movement speed for a short amount of time
  • Dash will increase your movement speed for as long as you have remaining Stamina
  • Afterboost will provide a short boost of speed after performing specific Parkour maneuvers

There are other locomotion-based skills that aren’t tied to running, of course. Far Jump allows you to jump farther, while Fast Climb makes you climb faster. Sadly, there are only a few that directly increase your movement speed. Beyond the aforementioned three, Slide Jump and Bash are two more helpful choices.

Try all the buttons you like, but you won’t find a button to sprint in Dying Light 2. Your movement speed can only be increased by upgrading your Parkour skills. Thankfully, there are at least a few options to help run at higher speeds. Get in the Parkour groove, and invest in mobility first; you can worry about escaping safely after you’re actually capable of escaping at all.

In case you haven’t earned it yet, here’s how long it takes to unlock Dying Light 2 co-op. We’ve also got tips on what to do if multiplayer co-op isn’t connecting.
