FFXIV Unlock Reaper: How to unlock the new Endwalker job in Final Fantasy 14

The Reaper is the latest class to be introduced to Final Fantasy 14. In Endwalker, players can take on the role of these unique DPS fighters (if you can get in the game) that can call on the souls of the slain to fuel their arts. Fortunately, unlocking Reaper in FFXIV is just as easy as the other jobs. However, players must meet a few prerequisites first.

FFXIV Unlock Reaper

To unlock the Reaper job in FFXIV, players must first achieve two goals:

  • Own the Endwalker expansion
  • Reach level 70 in any Disciple of War or Magic job

Once these requirements are met, players should head to Ul’dah – Steps of Nald and speak to the flustered attendant NPC directly East of the Chocobokeep. Here, the player can pick up the quest “The Killer Instinct,” which starts the Reaper questline.

The attendant will ask the player to protect his employer from a group called the Lemures that is led by a killer called the Reaper. However, when the player investigates, they find that the attendant’s employer, Jijilyo, owed the Lemures a debt for hiring them to scare off his competition. However, instead of collecting the amount owed, the Reaper says they’ll call the deal square if the player comes to do some work for them. Jijilyo agrees, and the Reaper asks the player to visit them at their headquarters.

The leader of the Lemures, Drusilla, asks the player to hunt a voidsent. However, the player must train as a Reaper first to do so. After the conversation is over, the player can speak with Drusilla again to unlock the Reaper job in FFXIV.

Once the player agrees to become a Reaper, they can continue the job’s storyline by continuing to speak to Drusilla. Reapers start at level 70, so all these quests can be done in a row instead of every five levels.
