Halo Infinite Offline error

Halo Infinite ‘Offline’ Error Fix: Why does it say I’m offline?

The Halo Infinite “Offline” error is particularly annoying for players of the latest Halo game’s multiplayer, which made a surprise release this month in beta, as it’s very non-specific and yet completely stops them from playing. It’s simply a little “offline” message at the top-right of the screen, where it should normally say the player’s name and party position, so the game thinks the player is offline even if they’re not. Here’s a Halo Infinite “offline” fix.

How to fix the Halo Infinite ‘Offline’ error

To fix the Halo Infinite “offline” error message:

  • Restart the game, and if that fails, restart the system.
  • Check to make the system is definitely online in another app or web portal.
  • Check the profile icon on Xbox or Steam to make sure it is not set to appear offline.
  • Make sure the country and time/date is correct by going to either Xbox or Windows Settings and choosing to let it set time and time zone automatically.
  • On PC, try removing the Xbox device key. Type in “Credential Manager” in the search box, then scroll to and remove “Xbl|DeviceKey” and “XblGrts|DeviceKey” then restart the PC.
  • Enable the option to join multiplayer games in the Xbox account’s Privacy Settings. This can either be done through a console or by going to this page. All the “online safety” options should be set to “allow.”
  • Turn off the manual proxy option by going to settings and Network and Internet, then go to Proxy and turn off “Use a proxy server” if turned on.

Hopefully one of these fixes will work and all players will get to try Halo Infinite’s early access multiplayer before the game’s official release next month. For more help on Halo Infinite, here’s what to do if the game is experiencing weirdly long loading times, here’s how to sort out FPS drops and annoying stuttering, and here’s how to sort a blue screen issue on Xbox Series X.
