Despite being version exclusives, Pokemon fans wonder if they can catch Palkia in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or get Dialga in Shining Pearl. Of course, this wasn’t possible in the original games. Still, since these are remakes, one might assume they made it possible to get both legendaries. We’ll examine whether catching Dialga in Shining Pearl or Palkia in Brilliant Diamond is possible below.
Can I catch Dialga in Shining Pearl or Palkia in Brilliant Diamond?
Unfortunately, these legendaries remain exclusive to their respective games. In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, there’s no way to catch Palkia. In turn, players are unable to catch Dialga in Pokemon Shining Pearl. At least this is the case at launch.
It’s possible that the devs could add DLC to the games that allows players to catch both legendaries in both games. Alternatively, we may see an event that adds them as a mystery gift. This has happened relatively frequently over the last few generations. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a shiny or a unique version of Dialga and Palkia show up in the near future.
Fortunately, there’s still a way to have the legendary players can’t get in their version of the game marked as seen, which is a requirement to get the National Dex. To do so:
- Become the Sinnoh Champion by beating the Elite Four.
- Find Cynthia’s grandmother in Celestic Town.
- Speak with Cynthia’s grandmother, and she’ll show the player a picture of the opposite game’s Legendary Pokemon.
Luckily, this is all players have to do to have the Pokemon count as being seen.
Unlike Dialga and Palkia, the Legendary Pokemon from other games are relatively easy to find and catch in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Once players unlock the National Dex, they can visit Ramanas Park, which features a way to unlock encounters with a whole host of iconic Pokemon.
