The Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough bug is severely limiting players’ enjoyment of the mode. It usually tasks a set of attackers and defenders to rally around gradually increasing sectors. However, a lot of Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough players are reporting issues, ranging from never-ending modes to problems with matchmaking. Fear not, as we dig into fixing the Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough mode.
Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough not working fix
The primary issue with Breakthrough appears to be around starting and finishing matches. For some, a game simply won’t appear, while others find that matches aren’t wrapping up properly.
In both scenarios, it appears to be a problem with developers DICE, rather than an error on players’ side. When something like matchmaking goes down, it’s often an issue with the game’s programming, rather than the servers, or connection errors. As such, there’s very little that Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough players can do to remedy it.
Of course, it’s worth trying reliable techniques like:
- Restart the game.
- Disconnect and reconnect to the network.
These methods can help clear any issues connecting to servers, but that’s usually only when it’s an issue with the individual connection. Since these Breakthrough errors appear to be coming from DICE, it might not solve the problem.
Equally, a suggestion from Reddit advises turning crossplay on and off, and trying again. If the error is a result of one platform not properly working with the mode, then trying to play with crossplay off could easily solve the issue.
These appear to be quite widespread errors, too. A video from YouTube user agentdark64 shows the climax of a Breakthrough match, with the end music playing and HUD fading away, but never quite ending.
Most likely, we’ll have to wait for DICE to release a hotfix. As a brand-new game, issues like the Breakthrough bug are par for the course – we just have to hope they’ll be solved quickly.
