Among Us Roles Tier List Guide Scientist Engineer Guardian Angel Shapeshifter

Among Us Best Roles Tier List: Shapeshifter, Scientist, Guardian Angel, Engineer guide

The latest Among Us update brings four roles to the game: Shapeshifter, Guardian Angel, Engineer, and Scientist. Each of these roles has a unique ability that can make a significant difference in each round. However, some roles are better than others, which is why we’ve made a tier list of which ones we think are the most useful.

Among Us best role tier list and how to play each role

Our tier list for the roles in Among Us is:

  • S Tier: Scientist
  • A Tier: Guardian Angel
  • B Tier: Shapeshifter
  • C Tier: Engineer

Here’s why we’ve ranked them and some tips on playing them:

S Tier: Scientist

Among Us Roles Update 3

The best role that came with the October 9 (which is available now on all platforms) Among Us update patch is the Scientist. This role can look at the entire crew’s vital signs at any time. That means that a coordinated team can catch deaths early and isolate the imposter much more quickly than before. There’s no disadvantage to this role other than painting a larger target on a player’s back.

A Tier: Guardian Angel

Among Us Roles Update 1

To become a Guardian Angel, a player first has to die. When they come back from the dead, they gain the ability to block a murder attempt from an imposter. However, the Guardian Angel must time their shield properly, which can be difficult. It’s also not a permanent shield, so a persistent imposter won’t find it to be a huge obstacle.

B Tier: Shapeshifter

Among Us Roles Update 4

This imposter-only role allows the imposter to shapeshift into the form of any survivor, alive or dead. This can be used to sow confusion through the crew or disguise the true identity of the imposter. However, it does have some drawbacks. It takes a couple of seconds to make the transformation, during which the imposter is immobilized. It also requires more strategy to use correctly than the other roles.

C Tier: Engineer

Among Us Roles Update 2

The Engineer can use vents, which is an ability usually reserved for the imposter. Compared to the other roles’ capabilities, this just isn’t that useful. It’s also inevitably going to lead to many innocent players getting spaced. After all, if players know that only the imposter and the Engineer can use vents, why not just shove anyone found coming out of one out the airlock just to be sure?
