Call of Duty Vanguard Best BAR Class Loadout Attachments perks

Call of Duty: Vanguard Best BAR Class: Loadout, attachments, and perks

The BAR is probably the best weapon in Call of Duty: Vanguard at launch, and choosing the best loadout for it makes it even better. With the right attachments and perks, a player can craft a BAR class that outperforms nearly every other gun in the game. To do so, players must learn what makes the BAR so good and exploit those traits.

What is the best BAR loadout in Call of Duty: Vanguard?

The BAR falls under the assault rifle category in Call of Duty: Vanguard, but it really fits into a category of firearms that are no longer produced: the automatic rifle. This type of gun was constructed between 1885-1943 and was an intermediary step between the semi-automatic rifle and the assault rifle. The BAR in real life was chambered for a full-size rifle round, the .30-06, and was meant to be used in the same applications as a light machinegun, while being portable by one man. This history is good to keep in mind when players are trying to find the best attachments and perks to use with it in this game.

So, the BAR has excellent accuracy, damage, and bullet velocity. Its drawbacks are heavy recoil, a low rate of fire, and a small magazine size. As such, we used the loadout below for the BAR:

  • Muzzle: A2 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Chariot 18″ Rapid
  • Optic: Zeiss G16 2.5x
  • Stock: Chariot WR
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: .50 BMG 30 Round Mag
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

The Chariot 18″ Rapid barrel increases the BAR’s rate of fire by 25%, and the .50 BMG 30 Round Mag increases its magazine capacity and damage. We also added lengthened ammo to increase the gun’s already considerable bullet velocity.

To offset the increased recoil from the above attachments, we added an A2 Flash Hider, the Stippled Grip, and an M1941 Handstop. Since the BAR has such a flat trajectory in this configuration, we went with a G16 2.5x scope, allowing players to engage targets at medium and long ranges effectively.

Putting the cherry on top is Sleight of Hand, which increases reload speed, and Fully Loaded, which lets us start with some extra ammo.

Best BAR Perks

The perks we run with the BAR are:

  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Overkill or Demolition

Ghost and Radar are both self-explanatory. Ghost helps lower a player’s detectability, and Radar makes enemy players that are firing unsuppressed weapons appear on the minimap.

Which Perk players use in the third slot really depends on their play style. Those that like to get close in might benefit from Overkill since the BAR isn’t as good at close range. Alternatively, Demolition is always useful because everyone can use an extra piece of lethal equipment per spawn.
