When is the Fortnite season 8 end date? That’s the question on the minds of Fortnite players, eager for the next season of the battle royale hit. Each Fortnite season tends to introduce new characters, exclusive items, and even changes to the map. Once the current Fortnitemares event comes to a close, you can guarantee that we’ll see some change within Fortnite. As such, we take a look at when the Fortnite Chapter 2 season 8 end date might be, so you can look towards the future of battle royale fun.

What is the end date for Fortnite Chapter 2 season 8?

Fortnite season 8 end date

By our predictions, the Fortnite Chapter 2 season 8 end date will be December 5/6.

That’s based on the average length of Fortnite battle passes. Epic Games has yet to confirm when season 8 will end and season 9 will start. However, Fortnite season 8 lasted exactly 96 days. If we use that as a basis for how long each season is, then you can expect season 9 in the middle of December.

However, there’s reason to believe there could be some variation of this date. If you take a look at the in-game season pass, it’s set to end slightly earlier, around December 5. As such, season 8 is likely to start around this time, as Epic Games wouldn’t leave a gap between two season passes being available. Equally, it’s unlikely they’d extend the length of a season pass at this late stage – so expect it to end at the time displayed in-game.

Therefore, you can expect to hear more about the latest Fortnite season in the coming weeks, as we approach November. Since we haven’t had any official details from Epic Games about season 9, it’s hard to predict what it’ll involve. That said, it debuts exceptionally close to the holiday season, and as such you can expect some festive items and in-game events. 2019’s equivalent was the 14 Days of Fortnite, though there wasn’t one in 2020. However, with the amount of promotions and events constantly ongoing in Fortnite, they’ll almost certainly celebrate Christmas.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, you can now play as Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, in celebration of Dune’s release. That’s on top of an imminent Ghostbusters crossover.
