Metroid Dread: Where to go after getting Space Jump

Players might be wondering where to go after getting the Space Jump in Metroid Dread. This ability allows Samus to perform an infinite amount of spin jumps, and is immensely useful for traversal. However, there are not many places in the immediate vicinity of the room where players get the Space Jump that need the new ability and it’s easy to get stuck trying to figure out where to go. Fortunately, we know where players need to go after reaching the Space Jump, and we’ll lead users there below.

Where do you need to go after getting the Space Jump in Metroid Dread?

After getting the Space Jump in Metroid Dread, players need to return to Burenia.

Players need to pay close attention to the Space Jump description for a hint on where they need to use the ability:

“Space Jump

Allows Samus to jump repeatedly during a Spin Jump

Press B at the right time during a Spin Jump to jump again.

When used underwater, Samus cannot

gain more height over the first jump without the Gravity Suit.”

The bottom part of the description is the clue for which we’re looking. At this point in Metroid Dread, players are still stuck in the Varia Suit, and Samus sinks like a rock in the water. However, using the Space Jump, Samus can traverse gaps underwater. Even though she won’t gain any elevation, chaining Spin Jumps together allows her to cross chasms she’d typically sink into.

After getting the Space Jump, players can drop down into a water-filled room. This chamber illustrates how Samus can use the Space Jump to traverse gaps underwater. Climb up on the edge on the right, and chain jumps to make it to the left. Then, lead out the door to reach the shuttle back to Ghavoran.

Once back in Ghavoran, exit the shuttle room and use the upper left door. Then, head left and jump into the duct and proceed into the next chamber. Bomb through the three blocks and drop into the water below. Here, players can use the Space Jump to reach a previously inaccessible ledge. Head through the duct here and drop through the blocks to reach the green teleporter that leads to Burenia.

Players then need to head to the large water-filled chamber to the left. Using the Space Jump, Samus can jump along the large gap from the right to the left. There’s a blue magnetic strip attached to a moving platform that players will need to stick to here. Once Samus grabs on, her weight will pull the platform down. Now, just Space Jump back to the right, return to the upper-right ledge, and Space Jump over and through the doorway that moving the platform revealed.

Once players enter the new doorway, they’ll be in uncharted territory and well on their way to their next objective. Samus’s journey is now closer to its end.
