How to get Fortnite golden skull trooper

The Fortnite golden skull trooper is one of the most elusive items in the battle royale sensation right now. This spooky variant of the beloved skull trooper skin was released as part of the ongoing Fortnitemares Halloween event. Unsurprisingly, fans are desperate to get their hands on the latest cosmetic. Fear not, as we break down how to get the Fortnite golden skull trooper.

How to unlock golden skull trooper in Fortnite

The good news is that getting the Fortnite golden skull trooper is a very simple process. In fact, current owners of any skull trooper skin won’t have to do anything. The golden skull trooper will automatically appear in your inventory.

If you don’t already have a skull trooper skin, there’s currently no way to get it. It’s only available for those who had already purchased the base skin, as a free cosmetic upgrade. If and when the skull trooper returns to the Item Store in the future, you can purchase it then. This should unlock the golden variant. As for now, however, it’s exclusively available to pre-existing owners.

It’s bad news for newcomers to Fortnite, or those dipping back in for the Halloween event after time away. These players may not have had the chance to purchase the skull trooper, and as such, cannot access its variant. Considering the skull trooper hasn’t been in the Item Shop since November 2020, it’s likely that many players missed it.

Due to its rarity in the Item Shop, it might mean that the skin remains inaccessible for large amounts of Fortnite players. It’s a shame for these people – but it does mean that existing players now have an incredibly rare skin in their inventory.

In other news, the all chat feature in League of Legends has been disabled due to the overwhelming toxicity of discussions. In lighter news, it seems that KFC Gaming and Turtle Rock Studios are locked in a Twitter war.
