The boathouse in Fristad Rock holds one of the more devious traps in Deathloop. Inside is a gas chamber trap that has a puzzle players must solve quickly to survive. But, unlike with Harriet’s gas, players can’t force their way out of the situation. Instead, they must work to solve the gas room puzzle or die quickly.
How to solve the gas room puzzle in Deathloop
Players must quickly solve a puzzle to escape the gas room in the Boathouse in Fristad Rock in Deathloop. Once the man behind the glass activates the gas trap, it will begin draining Cole’s health quickly, making it imperative to follow the steps below as soon as possible.
First, players need to hack the antenna near the door up the stairs. This will open a box revealing a book that gives players the means to solve the gas room puzzle. It reads:
“Mister S
A great man once told me even paradise needs pest control. Well, welcome to the unofficial AEON fumigations facility! Tested it myself. It works.
Sometimes a little too well.
Please, boss, please VENT THE GAS when you’re done. It’s easy.
First, you gotta reactivate the electricity panel.
Then, you pull the switch level.
EAsy, Even a little elegant.
It’s a beautiful instrument if I say so myself. I want to thank you for the opportunity to set it up. Make a little piece of this place just right for you. You know you can call me if you need any help with the system. Or if you don’t.
Anyway.
I’ll let you have your fun.”
Players can find the second piece of info to solve the gas room puzzle in Deathloop by looking through the glass in the locked door leading into the control room. On a whiteboard, players will find two sets of three numbers. These are random each game, so there’s no single solution to turn the gas off.
In our game, we got:
“027
023″
Underneath the stairs, players can destroy some boards to reveal a crawlspace with a series of switches in it. It can be hard to see, but underneath each set is a series of three numbers. Players just need to activate the two that correspond with the numbers they found on the whiteboard.
Once the correct switches are flipped, head back up the stairs and press the switch in the box. To open the door leading back out of the boathouse.
We assume there’s a way to make all eight lights near the box turn green (possibly by activate all the switches in the correct order) and unlock the door leading to the control room, but we haven’t quite figured it out yet. Regardless, the instructions above will at least let players escape to fight another day.
