With the iPhone 13 officially out later this week, Apple fans the world over are looking for the best deal. Of course, the latest iOS hardware doesn’t come at a cheap price. To help out prospective buyers, we’ve compiled a few methods to help get an iPhone 13 for cheaper than the retail price of $799 for the base handset. How to get an iPhone 13 for a low price
To get a cheap iPhone 13, people can use Apple’s in-house trade-in scheme.
Head to the official Apple website, where you can send your current iPhone or other Apple device in, and get credit off an iPhone 13 in return. Trading in the latest iPhone, the 12 Pro Max, will get you $790 off your next purchase – and as such, an iPhone 13 would cost just $9.
However, that price is only for the very best current iPhone, and if your device is a little older, it will end up costing you much more. For example, if you currently use an iPhone 11, you’ll get $340 of credit – which means you’ll still have to shell out a lot of cash for an iPhone 13.
Other Apple devices are available to trade in, too. If you trade in an iPad Pro, you’ll get up to $580 in credit, and you’ll get credit for Apple Watches and Macs too. You can trade in the top-line Android devices, but again, they won’t get you much. The latest Samsung Galaxy, the S20+, will net you $325, not even half of the iPhone 13’s price. As such, the Apple trade-in scheme is only useful if you’ve got a top-tier Apple devices to get rid of. Samsung’s equivalent scheme is a lot more generous, where the S20+ will get you $400 off a new device.
Elsewhere, you can look to third-party sellers like eBay – but these can be unreliable and unregulated, so it’s worth being careful. We advise never purchasing from an eBay seller unless you can 100% verify their legitimacy, or you could find yourself out of pocket.
Waiting until Black Friday deals appear could be fruitful, though there’s rarely a discount on the latest Apple hardware. iPhone 12 models should be available for a considerable sale price, however.
