The first significant puzzle players will run into in the RPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is one which involves color gems. Fortunately, the color gem maze puzzle in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous has a relatively easy solution.

How to solve the color gem puzzle in the Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Shield Maze

Pathfinder Kingmaker color gem puzzle solution

The color gem puzzle might stump players in the Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Shield Maze since the answer isn’t readily evident. The solution to the gem puzzle is to click on the stones in this order:

  • Yellow
  • Blue
  • Red
  • Yellow

So, how did we get the answer? The solution to the color puzzle in the Shield Maze is in one of the first rooms of the area. There are a series of paintings on the wall in the room where the player first encounters distorted mongrels. These paintings show the sequence in which the color gems must be activated.

Since the paintings aren’t super obviously part of a puzzle, players could wander around the maze looking for a solution and still end up scratching their heads. Despite the answer to the color gem puzzle being relatively simple, it can be hard to spot.

Once players activate the gems in the correct order, a door will slide open on the opposite side of the chamber. Inside is a great item that makes the whole ordeal worth it: Radiance. Radiance is a +1 radiant longsword that can be equipped by Paladins, meaning it’s perfect for Seelah. This sword will remain useful throughout the game since it can be upgraded and can eventually become either a Holy Weapon or Living Bane, depending on the player character’s alignment.
