Exciting news for Crysis fans today, as the release date for the upcoming remastered trilogy was confirmed. It’ll release on October 15, 2021 for current- and next-gen consoles, as well as on the Epic Games store. The bundle comes with remastered versions of the three campaigns in the Crysis trilogy – but does it contain multiplayer PvP and co-op?
Is there PvP and co-op in Crysis Remastered Trilogy?
Sadly, the Crysis Remastered Trilogy won’t contain PvP or co-op multiplayer. It’s bad news for fans of the original trilogy, as none of the multiplayer components are in this remaster.
Yes, Crytek has taken the decision not to include multiplayer modes in the Crysis Remastered Trilogy. When the first game was remastered in 2020, it only had the single-player campaign – omitting the 2007 original’s PvP multiplayer mode. Its subsequent sequels did include co-op and PvP components though, so it’s a shame to see that they won’t be returning here.
The sad news is explicitly confirmed on the Crysis website. They advertise the remastered trilogy as a chance to “play the single-player campaigns from legendary first-person shooters Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3.” This is as clear as it gets – there won’t be multiplayer here.
The suit changes all the rules.
Crysis Remastered Trilogy, featuring Crysis 1, 2, and 3, will launch on October 15th for PS4 & 5, X1 & XSX/S, Switch, and for PC via the Epic Games Store.

However, it still sounds like an exciting nostalgia trip for fans, even without the multiplayer component. Next-gen consoles will even get ray-tracing and 4K/60 FPS performance. Sadly, that won’t dampen the sadness that the beloved multiplayer won’t be there.
In its time, Crysis had some of the most prolific PvP and co-op modes in the FPS genre. The the original game’s multiplayer servers shut off in 2014, although you can still find a match in Crysis 3. Therefore, while the new remasters won’t allow for PvP action, the old reliable services are still there.
In other news, you’ll be able to play Watch Dogs Legion free this weekend – unless you’re an Xbox owner. We’ve also got all the details on TimTheTatMan and Dr Lupo moving from Twitch to YouTube.
