Will there be a Marvel’s Midnight Suns Spider-Man appearance? The new Marvel strategy game from XCOM and Civilization developer Firaxis got a big gameplay reveal yesterday after being revealed at Gamescom last month following many rumors, but there’s one major Marvel superhero missing from the character roster. Is Spider-Man in Marvel’s Midnight Suns? And if so, would it be Peter Parker or Miles Morales?
Will Marvel’s Midnight Suns get Spider-Man?
It is very possible that Spider-Man will make an appearance as a team member in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, although he hasn’t been confirmed or hinted at just yet.
However, Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Wolverine have seemingly all been chosen for Marvel’s Midnight Suns due to how recognizable they are rather than their connection to anything magical or demonic.
Spider-Man is arguably the most popular Marvel hero and has far more of a connection to the magical side of the Marvel universe than most. Doctor Strange, who is also in the game, will play a massive role in this year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, and it looks like Peter Parker’s new black suit might be infused with magic. Furthermore, an upcoming episode of Marvel’s What If? animated series will see Peter Parker embrace the magical arts.
The other big question is whether Peter Parker or newer Spider-Man Miles Morales will appear in Midnight Suns. Peter Parker is used a lot in games, including probably in this year’s Avengers DLC, and Midnight Suns’ Ghost Rider is the most recent Robbie Reyes version rather than the classic Johnny Blaze, so Midnight Suns may go with the underutilized Miles Morales instead.
More characters will undoubtedly be revealed for Marvel’s Midnight Suns at a later point, and it seems very possible Spider-Man and maybe Wanda Maximoff will get to take on the demonic armies of the main villain Lilith. Spider-Man will next be seen in No Way Home this December, and Marvel’s latest movie Shang-Chi is out tomorrow and has plenty of magic use to whet the appetite.
