Does Maggie die in The Walking Dead Season 11?

The last season of The Walking Dead has started airing, which means no one is safe from the chopping block. Fans are wondering which of our heroes will survive and which will perish.

Of all the remaining characters, fans are likely most anxious to see if Maggie dies in The Walking Dead Season 11. In the first few episodes, her mental state is not great, and it’ll likely only deteriorate as the group continues to fight the Reapers and close in on Meridian. She’s not in a good place, and the world of the undead has no mercy for those carrying too much baggage.

As of episode 4 of The Walking Dead Season 11, Maggie Rhee is still alive.

So far, Maggie has managed to outlive most of her compatriots, and only Daryl and Carol have been around longer than her. Unlike her father and sister, Maggie has survived the odds and rose to become a leader. After the war with the Saviors, Maggie left Hilltop to seek out more communities and managed to find Meridian. Unfortunately, the Reapers destroyed Meridian while Maggie was trying to lead walkers away from the settlement, forcing her to return to Alexandria.

In the first part of season 11, Alexandria is running out of food, and Maggie convinces part of the group to go with her to reclaim Meridian, claiming that the town has plenty of food. However, it’s obvious that the primary motivator for Maggie’s return to Meridian is revenge. She’s even able to put her hate of Negan aside in her quest to take down the Reapers.

In episode 3, all of Maggie’s group and Negan are either killed or severely injured. Maggie is forced to leave Alden behind when his injuries from fighting Reapers slow him down. That means it’s only her and someone she counts as her mortal enemy left to take on the Reapers at Meridian.

By episode 6, Maggie and Negan have regrouped with Gabriel and another companion and are hiding out in a house they designated as the group’s meeting spot if things went badly along the way. Unfortunately, Daryl has been conscripted by the Reapers and is forced to lead them to the area. He’s able to warn Maggie subtly, but she and the rest of her group only slip out with moments to spare. With the Reapers hot on her tail, her only hope is that Daryl’s inadvertent infiltration of the group can be further used to her advantage.

Though she hasn’t died yet, Maggie is putting herself in a perilous position, and we think her odds of perishing this season are relatively high. The only thing that might save her is the fact that she’s still trying to keep her anger under control, but that might not last once the group finally makes it to Meridian.
