Psychonauts 2: How to run faster and can you upgrade sprint

Is there a Psychonauts 2 run faster upgrade or a way to sprint? Any players starting the game will probably notice that the default Psychonauts 2 run speed for Raz seems really slow, is there a way to speed Raz up? Is there some sort of Psychonauts 2 sprint upgrade that can be purchased or unlocked later on to make Raz run faster around the world — or is there some other way to speed him up? Here’s how to move faster in Psychonauts 2.

Is there a Psychonauts 2 sprint upgrade or a way to run faster?

Psychonauts 2 run faster

There are two ways to move faster in Psychonauts 2:

  • The roll button can be used infinitely and it gets Raz around far quicker than the standard run.
  • Use the Levitation Ball ability. Like in the first game, this is essentially Raz’s sprint. Stand on the ground and use the Levitation psychic ability to spawn a ball under Raz’s feet, which he can roll on for far faster movement speed.

There is no actual sprint upgrade in Psychonauts 2, nor is there any way to physically run faster with Raz. His regular run speed remains consistent throughout the game, as developer Double Fine expects players to use the Levitation Ball psychic power if they want to get around quicker. This is exactly the same as in the first Psychonauts, which likewise did not have a sprint upgrade for Raz.

There’s certainly a lot to do in Psychonauts 2, even if there isn’t a running upgrade to find. Speaking of Levitation, the parachute ball from that pops very quickly, so is there a way to upgrade that ability? One of the toughest challenges in the game is to unlock Raz’s original Psychonauts 1 outfit, so here’s how to do that.

Our reviewer liked Psychonauts 2 a lot, calling it an “expert” exploration of mental health. Head here to check out our review.
