Smite continues to enjoy success on Switch and PS4, but sometimes PC and Xbox One players encounter issues. Namely, network errors can result in a problem where Smite cannot connect to Xbox Live servers. Though it doesn’t happen often, this is actually a common error with a very simple solution.

In most cases, Smite cannot connect to Xbox Live servers because the service is experiencing interruptions. This error seems to occur every few months, typically when Xbox Live servers are down. The connection should work again once service is restored.
First things first: If the game can’t connect to Xbox Live, don’t try to change any settings or reinstall the game. Instead, head over to Down Detector to see if other users are reporting outages. If so, there’s a very good chance that something is causing network interruptions.
When interruptions or maintenance occur, you won’t be able to connect to the game’s servers. It may be that Xbox Live is having problems, or that the Smite servers themselves are under maintenance. Either way, the issue is almost certainly server-side, meaning there’s nothing you need to do to fix the situation.
