The long-rumored Battlefield 2042 was finally announced last week, with a gameplay trailer launching at E3. Questions are swirling as to its availability on Xbox Game Pass and EA Play Pro, to see if it will be available at launch to subscribers. Read on to see whether it will be on these services.
Is Battlefield 2042 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
Sadly, it seems like Battlefield 2042 will not be on Xbox Game Pass. There was no mention of Game Pass in the gameplay trailer released at the Xbox E3 conference.
That means, if you want to play Battlefield 2042 on Xbox upon release, your only option is to purchase a copy of the game. This is unlike other games that debuted at the conference, like Forza Horizon 5. The popular racing sim is coming to Game Pass on its release day. Of course, it doesn’t mean that Battlefield 2042 will never come to Game Pass, as older releases like Fallout 3 arrived on the subscription service last week. It may happen in the future, but it won’t be there during Battlefield 2042’s release on October 22.
Is Battlefield 2042 coming to EA Play Pro?
Some good news here – Battlefield 2042 will be coming to EA Play Pro upon its release.
This subscription service gets you early access to EA games, as well as a range of games from the publisher’s back catalog. EA have confirmed that Pro subscribers get the Ultimate Edition, as well as Beta access, and the full game. That’ll land on October 15, a week before the game’s general release. Therefore, if you want to play the game without getting a copy, subscribing to EA Play Pro is your best option.
In other news, the PC requirements for Battlefield 2042 are here, and they aren’t too demanding. Nintendo fans were also disappointed this week, as the rumored Switch Pro console wasn’t revealed at E3.
