Battlefield 2042 PC requirements

Battlefield 2042 PC requirements shouldn’t be too demanding

After the impressive showing for the latest Battlefield game at E3, players may be concerned about the Battlefield 2042 PC requirements. The new game is launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X as the first next-gen Battlefield title, so PC players are probably worried about a big leap in the Battlefield 2042 minimum specs or the Recommended settings. Let’s take a look at the Battlefield 2042 system requirements for PC.

What are the Battlefield 2042 PC requirements?

Battlefield 2042 PC requirements

As of now, the PC requirements for Battlefield 2042 have not been revealed, but given the cross-generational release of the game on PS4 and Xbox One in addition to PS5 and Xbox Series X, the minimum specs shouldn’t be any higher than Battlefield 5 on PC.

Battlefield 2042 Minimum Requirements

  • CPU: Core i5 6600K / AMD FX-8350
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
  • VIDEO CARD: DirectX 11.0 Compatible video card with 2 GB VRAM (AMD Radeon HD 7850/Nvidia GeForce GTX 660)
  • HDD SPACE: 50 GB

Battlefield 2042 Recommended Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or equivalent
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • VIDEO CARD: DirectX 11.1 Compatible video card 8GB AMD Radeon RX 580 / 6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060)
  • HDD SPACE: 50 GB

These are basically the same as Battlefield 5’s. Given that Battlefield 5’s PC requirements weren’t that different from Battlefield 1, it seems likely that Battlefield 2042 will have similar requirements, although the Recommended settings may be pushed a little higher.

This post will be updated when the official system requirements for Battlefield 2042 on PC roll in, but users shouldn’t feel the need to rush out and buy the latest Nvidia card or anything — unless they want the game looking its best.

While the requirements haven’t been revealed, EA has still released a lot of information about Battlefield 2042 in the last few days. For starters, the game will get an open beta ahead of the October release, and the gameplay trailer reveals the next-gen Levolution in action — although it has also left players concerned about explosive spam.
