Mass Effect Legendary Edition collects the original trilogy into one (potentially controversial) package. Back when it first came out, ME1 drew a lot of criticism for depicting sex scenes between Commander Shepard and his or her crewmates. Does Mass Effect Legendary Edition feature nudity?
Mass Effect Legendary Edition features brief optional sex scenes without explicit nudity. In ME3, one scene depicts a nude female alien’s bottom and breasts for a short time.
The unmodified version of Mass Effect Legendary Edition doesn’t feature any objectionable sexual content. Players can engage in brief sexual encounters, though they’re always of a mild nature and sometimes only implied. Characters keep their clothes on in the first two titles, with only Mass Effect 3 depicting a naked character.
These “romance” sections are completely optional, and users must intentionally court crewmates to build a relationship before being able to share any physical relations. Additionally, not all characters are romanceable and different crew members have and adhere to specific gender preferences.
Users can modify the PC version of Mass Effect Legendary Edition to add full-frontal nudity in ME1, 2, and 3. This explicit content is unofficial and doesn’t carry an ESRB age rating, so may not be appropriate for the game’s intended audience. PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One players don’t have access to these kinds of modifications.
