How to fix Fortnite long load times in 2021

Fortnite is a huge game, which means that bugs like long loading screens are sure to occur. Players have been having trouble with slow loading for a while now, however. As a result, many users are wondering how to speed up loading to achieve faster load times. Here’s the need-to-know on the Fortnite long load times issue for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS.

Fortnite long load times fix (2021)

Fortnite long load times

Fortnite developer Epic Games is aware of a bug that causes long loading screens when entering and exiting matches. The team previously thought that it had fixed the problem, though has since become aware that the bug is still occurring. Epic is currently “working to address this” and a new Fortnite update will fix the long loading glitch in due course.

Until the official Fortnite patch to speed up loading times lands, payers can attempt a few homebrew fixes. Firstly, close the game and then reboot the device used to play Fortnite; rebooting the internet router or modem could also help. If Fortnite still takes forever to load, delete the game before redownloading a fresh install.

Although these troubleshooting steps won’t magically fix the Fortnite loading delay bug, they can address general issues capable of causing the slowdown. If the issue persists, simply wait for the faster Fortnite load times update. Although it’s inconvenient, the game is still fully playable in the meantime.

Players experiencing the “Invalid Client” and LS-0016 errors haven’t been quite so lucky. Fortunately, however, both issues are solvable by clicking the relevant links.

The latest Fortnite update made huge improvements to Creative Mode. Matchmaking now supports up to 50 players in Creative, which will no doubt result in some crazy matches. That isn’t the only new thing, though, so check out the complete patch notes for more.
