Nioh Remastered and Nioh 2 Remastered have a normal (but still impressive) suite of visual improvements that most remasters have. However, The Nioh Collection also lets players to import their Nioh and Nioh 2 saves on PS4 to the PS5 remasters and vice versa, allowing them continue their progress on the new system with all the additional bells and whistles. Here’s how to transfer the Nioh save to the PS5 and how to get the Nioh 2 save to PS5.
How to import a Nioh PS4 save to PS5
To transfer a Nioh save on PS4 to the PS5 version of Nioh Remastered, players first need to download the latest update (1.23) for Nioh on PS4. From there, launch the PS4 version of Nioh on the PS4 or on the PS5 through backwards compatibility.
Go over to the “System” on the main menu and choose “Cross-Save Management.”
From there, go to “Upload save data to cloud storage.” The game will require that players sign in on PSN first. Choose the desired save.
The game will then upload the chosen save. The PS4 portion of this process is complete once the game uploads the save.
After the save has been successfully uploaded, load up Nioh Remastered on PS5. Go to the settings on the main menu and then to “Cross-Save Management.” Then choose “Download save data from cloud storage.”
Find the PS4 save that was uploaded and then choose the presumably blank space it should save to on PS5. This will overwrite any PS5 save on the system already. The transfer process should now be complete and players can continue their PS4 save on PS5.
How to import a Nioh 2 PS4 save to PS5
To transfer a Nioh save on PS4 to the PS5 version of Nioh 2 Remastered, players first need to download the latest update (1.24) for Nioh 2 on PS4. From there, launch the PS4 version of Nioh on the PS4 or on the PS5 through backwards compatibility.

Does importing a Nioh or Nioh 2 PS4 save unlock trophies on PS5?
Yes, once players import their Nioh or Nioh 2 save into Nioh Remastered or Nioh 2 Remastered, the game will automatically unlock previously earned PS4 trophies in the PS5 version. However, not every single one will unlock again and those must be done manually again in the remaster. Every earned trophy will pop after transferring except the ones that call for players to do certain goals within specific missions. For example, players won’t have to reach level 100 again to unlock “Full-fledged samurai” but they will have to defeat the optional Gozuki boss in the first mission to get the “Bold Wrangler” trophy.
This process should also work in reverse, meaning players can double up by playing the PS5 version, unlocking PS5 trophies, and then transferring that PS5 save to PS4 to get those trophies again on PS4.
