Upgrading gear in Immortals Fenyx Rising is not all that different from upgrading weapons. Despite the similarities, these are two separate systems. Here’s how to upgrade armor and helmets in Immortals.
How to upgrade armor in Immortals Fenyx Rising
In order to upgrade gear and armor in Immortals, players have to go to the Hall of the Gods in the Valley of Eternal Spring. The Forge of Hephaistos is there near the health upgrade station. Go over to it and interact with it to see the upgrade menu pop up. A gold square on the upgrade menu signifies if the player has enough materials to upgrade that item. Press and hold the confirm button over it to upgrade it.
Gear has eight different levels and gains an extra perk for getting to level four. This specific perk varies with each armor piece. Players can check these different perks in the inventory menu.
Upgrading gear takes two different materials: blue adamantium and purple adamantium. Blue adamantium is very common and can be mostly found by defeating enemies. Players can even collect it during vault loading screens as they fall down into Hades (although the load times on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S systems makes that hard to do) or find it while cutting down bushes. There are also blue adamantium clusters found in the world, which are big, hard-to-miss crystals.
Purple adamantium is a lot more rare. There are also purple adamantium clusters in the world like the other crystal types, but purple adamantium is otherwise only found in epic chests. Killing enemies will not yield purple adamantium. It’s also found in night chests.
Epic chests are like normal chests but have an icon with a set of armor on it. These are scattered throughout the world and are often associated with a fight or a puzzle. Night chests are more rare and only show up at night. There is a moon icon over these chests.
