Knowing how to upgrade weapons in Immortals Fenyx Rising is the first step players need to take in order to bring their swords, hammers, and whatnot to the next level. It’s not the most involved system in the game, but it can still take some time to figure out. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in Immortals.
How to upgrade weapons in Immortals Fenyx Rising
To upgrade weapons in Immortals, players have to go to the Hall of the Gods in the Valley of Eternal Spring (so fast travel there for some quick access to the upgrade station). The Forge of Hephaistos is there near the health upgrade station. Go over to it and interact with it to see the upgrade menu pop up. A gold square on the upgrade menu signifies if the player has enough materials to upgrade that item. Press and hold the confirm button over it to upgrade it.
The sword and axe can be upgraded there and they get special abilities when they hit level four. The ability depends on what type of sword or axe it is. Players can see these effects in the gear menu. This whole process is a lot like upgrading gear.
Weapon upgrades take two types of shards: blue adamantium and red adamantium. Blue adamantium is quite common and can be found by killing enemies. Players can even collect it during vault loading screens as they fall down into Hades (although the load times on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S systems makes that hard to do) or find it while cutting down bushes. There are also blue adamantium clusters found in the world, which are big, hard-to-miss crystals.
Red adamantium is much harder to find and a lot more special. Red adamantium is only found in guarded chests and, more commonly, by beating special foes like bosses or mythical enemies. There are also big, red adamantium crystal clusters, much like their blue brethren. Given how rare it is, red adamantium a precious resource. Special enemies will have boss-like health bars that pop up in the player’s HUD and guarded chests have icons that have a sword and axe over them.
