There’s a new type of loot item available in Apex Legends. It’s called the Treasure Pack, and it’s special because it offers rare and immediate rewards upon opening. Even if you haven’t yet found one, chances are good you’ve at least heard one. So what do Treasure Packs do in Apex Legends, and why might you want to find a few for yourself? Read on to find out.
Apex Legends | What do Treasure Packs do?
Treasure Packs are a new loot item added to Apex Legends for Season 5. They appear in-game as random drops, but only one Treasure Pack can be acquired each day. Instead of going into your backpack, their contents are rewarded as soon as you return to the Lobby screen after a match has concluded.

Due to their random nature, Treasure Packs — sometimes also referred to as Daily Treasure Packs — contain a variety of loot. Treasure Packs have a chance of dropping BattlePass XP, Apex Packs, Crafting Medals, lore updates, and more. However, it’s worth reiterating that only one can be redeemed per day. If you happen to spot an additional Treasure Pack during a match, do the nice thing and let a friend have it.
If you’re looking to find your own, you’re in luck. Treasure Packs spawn within loot bins, so you don’t have to play any differently in order to get one. In fact, loot bins with a Treasure Pack inside give off a strange buzzing noise that grows as you get closer. Chances are good that by the time you hear the sound, you’ll know what to expect to find when you open the loot bin.
Once a Treasure Pack has been claimed, a countdown timer will appear in the Quests tab. Until the timer has run its course, you won’t be able to claim another one. However, once you’ve found five total, you’ll gain access to a special Hunt PvE mission. These missions task you with earning Ghost Fragments, which are used to unlock a reward from Season 5. If that’s your ultimate goal, be sure to track down Treasure Packs as soon as possible.
