How to recruit Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX Legendaries

If the above list has any of your favorite Legendary Pokemon from the franchise’s storied history, you’ll be wanting to recruit them and add them to your Rescue Team. Thankfully, you can recruit Legendary Pokemon in Mystery Dungeon DX. Unfortunately, you will need to complete the game and watch through its credits before you can. As it turns out, there is a bunch of stuff to be getting on with after you complete Mystery Dungeon DX, including recruiting Legendary Pokemon to your Rescue Team.

Once you have completed the game, you will unlock the Dungeons which contain the Legendary Pokemon to play through again, according to Serebii.net. You’ll need to return to the dungeons housing the Legendary Pokemon and battle them again to recruit them upon defeating them. You can do this with the following Pokemon:

  • Zapdos
  • Articuno
  • Moltres
  • Groudon
  • Rayquaza

For Legendary Pokemon that don’t appear in the main story, however, you’ll simply need to defeat them or reach the end of their corresponding Dungeons twice (return to the dungeon again) to recruit them. This should be the recruitment method that works when it comes to most of the 15 post-game Legendary Pokemon in Mystery Dungeon DX (any beneath Rayquaza in the complete list above). Make sure you have bought all the correct Camps from Wigglytuff to ensure you recruit the Legendary Pokemon.

Some Legendary Pokemon, however, will be recruited to your Rescue Team the first time you defeat them. Equip the Friend Bow to help make sure this happens. This should be the case for the following:

  • Kyogre
  • Ho-Oh (after defeating Entei, Suicune, and Raikou)
  • Lugia (after recruiting Latios and Latias)
  • Mewtwo (after encountering Ho-Oh)
  • Celebi (after recruiting Latios and Latias)
  • Jirachi (after recruiting Latios and Latias, you’ll need the Mt. Moonview Camp)
  • Deoxys (after defeating Lugia)

How to Recruit Latios and Latias

To recruit Latios and Latias, follow these steps:

  • Complete Solar Cave
    • Head to the Northern Range Dungeon
      • Defeat Latios at the end of the Dungeon
        • Rescue Latias from Pitfall Valley

Following these steps should recruit Latios and Latias for your Rescue Team. You’ll need the Southern Island Camp, too.

How to Recruit Mew

Once you have created the Music Box from defeating Regice, Registeel, and Regirock (defeat them again to recruit them) in the Buried Relic Dungeon, you should be able to recruit Mew. Mew should randomly appear in the Buried Relic Dungeon anywhere between B36fF to B99F. Make sure you have the Friend Bow equipped to increase the chances of Mew recruitment success. You’ll need the Final Island Camp to recruit Mew, too.
