Iron Man VR PC

Iron Man VR PC | Is it coming to Oculus, Vive, Index, WMR?

Embodying the iconic Iron Man is a fantasy long-held by gamers, though never fully realized. We got a couple of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tie-in games from SEGA way back when, but, to put it bluntly, they sucked. Then we thought EA and BioWare’s Anthem might take up the mantle, but, alas, that sucked too. Developer Camouflaj’s Iron Man VR looks like it could be our best hope yet — check out the GR preview — but is there an Iron Man VR PC version on the horizon for Oculus, Vive, Index, WMR?

Is Iron Man VR coming to PC VR headsets?

Iron Man VR PC

With Iron Man VR looking promising and only having been announced for release on PlayStation VR at the time of writing, PC VR users are (of course) wondering if they’ll ever get to play the game on their preferred head-mounted display (HMD). Unfortunately, there are currently no announced plans for Iron Man VR to release on Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC Vive, Valve Index, or Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

The game is being made as a PS4 exclusive and in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment, which is also serving as the publisher. Although there was a point in time when this would have immediately disqualified Iron Man VR from ever releasing on PC, that isn’t necessarily the case now.

First-party Sony title Horizon: Zero Dawn is reportedly getting a PC port later this year, while Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is confirmed to be making the transition after being partially funded by the PlayStation manufacturer. Not only that, but there are even reported plans to bring Dreams and more exclusives to the PC platform in the future.

This appears to indicate that Sony’s going at least partially platform-agnostic, presumably in order to have their games reach as many players as possible. Whether or not this will extend to Iron Man VR remains to be seen, though, interestingly, it should be noted that Dreams will have PSVR support and could potentially make the jump with that feature intact.
