New details have been revealed about the second season of the Fruits Basket 2019 reboot anime. Production company TMS Entertainment has revealed information about the new season, including when and where it will air. The official Fruits Basket Twitter account announced the second season’s release window today. According to the account, Fruits Basket Season 2 is set to air sometime in spring 2020. No specific release date was given. In addition to the announcement, the Twitter account released a short preview trailer. A longer version (embedded below) was simultaneously released on YouTube.

According to reporting by Crunchyroll, Fruits Basket Season 2 will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliate channels, and the second season will include the same voice cast the reboot’s first season. The reboot’s first season contained 25 episodes, but it is unknown how many will be in the second season. Additionally, no information has been revealed about a potential English-language release. The first season is available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu with English subtitles, however, so the second season will likely come to some (if not all) of those streaming sites.

Not to be confused with the 2001 anime of the same name, the 2019 reboot series is aiming to adapt the entirety of Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket manga. The story follows Tohru Honda, who moves in with some male classmates, only to discover that they transform into animals when exposed to people of the opposite sex.
