How to get TM80 Volt Switch in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield Volt Switch

As the name suggests, Volt Switch is an Electric-type move that allows the Pokemon using it to switch out with a party member of your choice immediately following their attack.

Here’s the full in-game description:

After making its attack, the user rushes back to switch places with a party Pokemon in waiting.

This can be great for inflicting one final bit of damage before swapping out in a variety of potentially dangerous situations. If the Pokemon using Volt Switch is on the verge of fainting or at a type disadvantage, this allows some damage to be dealt on their way out, which isn’t possible when conventionally switching.

Now that you have an idea of how to use it, where can TM80 be found? In order to unlock Volt Switch, you’ll need to earn 20,000 points in a single Rotom Rall race. Once you have the Rotom Bicycle in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you’ll be able to locate Watt Traders lingering in the Wild Area that are wearing cycling garments. Talk to them and there’ll be an option to participate in Rotom Rallies; selecting a long course will give you more chance to accrue the necessary 20,000 points to be rewarded with TM80 containing Volt Switch.
