Halo MCC patch notes January 29 2020

What is the Halo: Reach Season 1 End Date?

The release of Halo: Reach for The Master Chief Collection has introduced arguably one of the finest Halo games in franchise history to an all-new audience. Players looking to earn new in-game loot have certainly discovered all the rewards offered in Halo: Reach Season 1, but there’s no word on when or if a new Season will be introduced. What is the Halo: Reach Season 1 end date, and are there plans to launch a new Season any time soon?

For now, it appears there are no plans to introduce new Seasons into Halo: Reach. As such, there is no Season 1 end date—the current mission and reward structure is likely to remain as-is until further notice.

Of course, there’s an obvious catch here: Season 1 is specifically numbered as the first, which implies that more content would be coming over time. However, many players have noted that the rewards offered through Halo: Reach Season 1 seem to include all of the rewards available for purchase (then using credits) in the original version of the game. If a new Season was introduced, new rewards would have to be implemented.

It’s sad news for sure, but not entirely unexpected. After all, it would be unusual for the developers of Halo: Reach to revive a ten-year-old game with a modern day Season Pass or Battle Pass system. Plus, introducing new content means more work for the developers, and the cost of that work would would have to be passed down to the player. Ultimately, this would require die-hard Halo fans to purchase the same game again, then pay another fee just to access the new content. Suffice to say, it would be an unpopular decision.

As things stand now, there is no Halo: Reach Season 1 end date. The current Season appears to be the only one to be offered in-game, and the rewards as well as mission structure should remain as-is until we hear otherwise. Fortunately, there is a silver lining: With no Season 1 end date in sight, Halo: Reach players are free to unlock rewards at their own pace without fear that their progress will be wiped with the introduction of a new Season.
