It seems that players will be able to get the Royal Decree weapon in Modern Warfare by taking first place in the new 2v2 Gunfight tournament. This is a unique tournament that will offer players the chance to team up a friend and work their way through a field of other player. And the winner of this tournament will bring home the bacon, or in this case, the Royal Decree weapon.

The tournament will consist of 16 teams with a total of 32 players. There will be eight rounds, all of which will be winner take all. As you advance, you’ll win different rewards and XP, and if you make it all the way, you’ll get the Modern Warfare Royal Decree grand prize.

A Redditor on r/ModernWarfare is credited with uncovering the Royal Decree reward. It is currently unclear if the pistol will remain an exclusive reward for those who win the Gunfight tournament, but for now, winning the tournament will be the only way to earn the weapon.

You can find the Gunfight 2v2 tournament by updating your game and navigating to the quick play menu. Once there, you can hop into the tournament with a partner and have at it. If you lose, you’ll be disqualified from that bracket, but can rejoin a new one with your partner.

Now that you know how to get the Modern Warfare Royal Decree weapon, grab a partner, hop online, and advance through the tournament.
