The Red Dead Redemption 2 PC pre-load is now available, roughly a week before the official release of the hotly anticipated wild west game on November 5. Here’s how to preload Red Dead Redemption 2 PC.
The pre-load is only available on the Rockstar Games Launcher for now, but Red Dead Redemption 2 will be sold in many digital storefronts, including Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, and more. Steam is also getting the game, but with a noteworthy delay; it will be available to purchase in December.

When the big announcement dropped, Rockstar stated that the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release was slated for November 5, and is sticking to that date. With the pre-load already available, this should give every player enough time to prepare for launch.
Red Dead Redemption 2 preload
To begin the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC pre-load, you just have to log in to the Rockstar Games Launcher and click the pre-load button on the RDR2 panel in your library. If you haven’t downloaded Rockstar’s new game launcher, you can do so here.
Contrary to expectations based on the official system requirements, Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t going to eat up 150 GB of hard drive space at once. This pre-load weighs in at 109 GB, but we’re yet to see if Rockstar is planning on releasing a launch day patch that could significantly raise those numbers.
Pre-purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Rockstar Games Launcher nets you a free Rockstar game, with choices ranging from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to L.A. Noire, among others. You also get some considerable in-game bonuses for the main game and its online spin-off, Red Dead Online.
This is the first Red Dead game to be released on PC, after the exclusive console launches of Red Dead Revolver in 2004 and Red Dead Redemption in 2010.
