Red Dead Redemption 2 System Requirements | Minimum and recommended PC specs

The Red Dead Redemption 2 system requirements for PC were just revealed, shortly after the eagerly awaited announcement that Arthur Morgan’s gripping Western adventures wouldn’t be exclusive to consoles. There isn’t anything particularly shocking about the game’s requirements, but you should know by now that the pre-purchase is exclusive to the Rockstar Games Launcher. This is in fact where the Red Dead Redemption 2 system requirements were first spotted.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Minimum Requirements

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most beautiful games ever made, with a vast and vivid open world to explore. It comes as no surprise that Rockstar is adding some bells and whistles to the PC version, levering the power of the computers to bring some technical and visual enhancements. If you don’t have a top-of-the-line PC, you should be ready to make some compromises, not to mention deleting whatever useless files you have on your system to accommodate the 150 GB that Red Dead Redemption 2 requires.

This is quite a lot of hard drive space, but it’s still shy from Modern Warfare’s 175 GB, so maybe we should count ourselves lucky. Here is the full list of Red Dead Redemption 2 minimum requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 – Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
  • HDD Space: 150GB
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible
  • Additional System Requirements: 64-bit processor and operating system

Red Dead Redemption 2 Requirements | Recommended specifications

If you are shooting for the most immersive experience, then you must hope that your PC complies with the Red Dead Redemption 2 recommended specifications. With all the work that is certainly going into improved textures and assorted graphical improvements, not forgetting about running the game in 4K, you’d better have a beast of a machine.

Even if you get the single-player campaign running smoothly, don’t forget about Red Dead Online and how it should be even more demanding. If you want a good performance with no lag, framerate drops, or other issues, this is what you should be aiming for:

  • OS: Windows 10 – April 2018 Update (v1803)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K / AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
  • Memory: 12GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
  • HDD Space: 150GB
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible
  • Additional System Requirements: 64-bit processor and operating system
