Steam Server Status | What is Error Code 118?

Steam is undoubtedly the biggest games distribution store on PC, with loads of players logging on every minute. However, a recent error code has players wondering what is going on with the Steam server status. When trying to log on, players are being shown an error code 118 message, which is preventing them from accessing the store and other features. So, is Steam down? And if so, when is it going to be fixed?

It seems that error code 118 is preventing players from accessing the store, which is right before the big Halloween sale was set to launch. As of right now, there are tons of outages showing that Steam is unavailable all over the world. As you may have guessed, this is causing a little bit of mass panic among users.

At the time of writing, there has been no comment from Valve about the outages as far as we can tell. If you want to stay up to date, your best bet is to keep your eye on the official Steam Twitter account or on the Steam Reddit page. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed soon so players can hop in time for the Halloween sale.
