If you happen to be unfamiliar with this game, it’s the newest entry in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. In a way, it looks like it plays a lot like Garden Warfare. One of the main differences is that players can team up to fight against zombies in multiplayer PVE scenarios. But, do you have to play it with other people?

Technically, you don’t. A submission on the /r/PVZGardenWarfare subreddit has one player talking about tackling the game’s content as a solo player, although he admits that some of the hunts and battle chests in the Town Center are “nearly impossible” to beat by himself. Ultimately, he’s looking for tips on how he can do it, with one Redditor responding, “[Pea Gatling] solves everything” and others giving different suggestions.

While you can play the multiplayer content by yourself, that’s obviously not a dedicated single-player mode. If there’s going to be one, there hasn’t been any major news about it released as far as we can tell, although that doesn’t necessarily rule it out from coming in the future.

So, if you’re wondering whether or not Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is single-player, the answer is both yes and no. With that said, the apparent lack of a dedicated single-player mode doesn’t mean that you can’t take your shot at trying to fight all of the bad guys by yourself. Just be careful — it’s sure to be a heck of a challenge!
