Mario Kart Tour karts _ All kart special skills

Mario Kart Tour karts | All kart special skills

Mario Kart Tour’s gliders and drivers buck traditional Mario Kart systems, replacing speed, weight, and handling stats with special skills and favored courses. Mario Kart Tour’s karts are no exception, bringing their own special skills and favored course bonuses to your racers’ loadouts. You can check out our Mario Kart Tour favored courses guide for more information on that system, but we’ll discuss kart favored course bonuses below. Without further ado, let’s dig into this Mario Kart Tour karts guide, where we’ll cover all karts, all kart special skills, and how to unlock every kart.

While driver favored course bonuses grant extra items per item box and glider bonuses provide combo multipliers, Mario Kart Tour kart favored course bonuses simply grant bonus points. First-tier kart favored course bonuses (marked by three orange, upward arrows) increase bonus points by two times. Second-tier kart favored course bonuses (marked by two upward arrows) increase bonus points by 1.5 times. Leveling up your karts can increase these bonus numbers, adding small multipliers to the increase and granting a “bonus-points boost” multiplier. As with gliders, the main benefit of kart course bonuses is that earning more points during races and challenges can lead to higher ranks and more Grand Stars, used to unlock more cups and Tour Gifts.

Kart special skills improve different boost abilities in-race, like Dash Panel and Rocket Start boosts. Each kart special skill is named “(boost ability) Plus” and increases both the duration of the boost and the points earned for performing it. As with gliders, the amount a special skill increases its given bonus is determined by the kart’s rarity. Normal karts “increase (boost ability) boost time,” Super karts “further increase” boost time, and High-End karts “greatly increase” boots time.

Karts can potentially be obtained through the same means as characters and gliders: They can be purchased with real money in certain “special offer” bundles (like the current “New York Set” special offer), obtained in Tour Gifts, purchased from the Daily Selects shop with coins, and obtained via Gold Pass Tour Gift bonuses. Like drivers and gliders, karts can also be randomly rewarded from Pipe pulls. For specifics about the odds of a particular kart appearing from the Pipe, check out our Mario Kart Tour drop chances guide, as we’ll only note each kart’s rarity category below.

This Mario Kart Tour karts list is arranged according to the karts’ number of first-tier favored courses (those that provide a two-times bonus points multiplier). Since the effectiveness of each kart’s special skill changes depending on its rarity, be sure to take note of both stats.
