Zelda: Breath of the Wild | How to use the infinite jump glitch

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild brings our beloved Link on many new adventures. The open world is ours for the exploring, and at this point, almost every nook and cranny of Hyrule has been thoroughly documented by players. However, a new glitch can take Link to new heights and traverse places our hero has never touched before.

The results of the Breath of the Wild infinite jump glitch were posted by Twitter user @HyruleDojo. The 30-second clip shows Link jumping over and over again to gain height. Even when the jumping ends, Link runs back down to earth unscathed. The likelihood of stumbling upon this glitch is low, so read on if you’d like to learn how to exploit this newfound technique.

There are several ways to tackle the new glitch, known colloquially as Moonwalking. Some of the techniques require the player to exploit other glitches. However, the easiest way to jump forever only takes a minute to do and will have you exploring the skies in no time. Let’s get to it!

The first thing on your glitch to-do list is to make your way to the Mounted Archery Camp. This can be found south of Lake Hylia, between the Menoat River and Pappetto Grove. Once there, mount your horse and go talk to Jini. He’ll be sitting at a campfire and ask if you want to test your horse archery skills. Say yes to begin the game, but don’t get too excited: You won’t be doing any archery for now.

When the game begins, turn left and gallop down toward a distant herd of horses. Head to the top of the hill overlooking the herd. You’ll have to be wrangling with one of them before the archery game timer stops, but keep in mind that touching the ground means the game ends. While this sounds like an impossible situation, all you have to do is glide from your current horse down onto one of the wild ones with about 15 seconds left on the game timer.

Upon landing on the new horse, do your best to stay on without soothing the bucking animal. It’s important that you’re still wrangling with it when the game ends. If you’ve done the glitch correctly, you’ll know right away. Link and his steed will be bopping along, slowly moving even though the horse’s legs aren’t. You’ll possibly end up riding on a wildly bucking animal hundreds of feet in the air.

Once you’re riding high on your horse, all you have to do is warp away (and try not to think of what will happen to the mile-high horse once Link disappears). You can warp to anywhere you’d like and you’ll have infinite jumps from here on out. Just keep pressing X and let Hyrule be your oyster! The glitch will work in shrines, boss battles, and almost anywhere in Breath of the Wild. It even continues working between loading screens. If you want to stop the glitch, simply mount another horse. The one downside to the glitch, reported by GameXplain, is that climbing while jumping makes Link go very slowly. Even that setback can be fixed by walking normally again, and you’ll still have infinite jumps until you choose another steed.

Now that you know how to get the Breath of the Wild infinite jump glitch, Hyrule is no match for you. Cheese your way through shrines and boss battles, easily approach the divine beasts, and see many parts of Hyrule that you were never supposed to access. Have fun!
