Pokemon Masters Sync Pairs

Pokemon Masters Sync Pairs | What Pokemon and Trainers are available?

Pokemon Masters is the newest Pokemon mobile game from The Pokemon Company, following up the phenomenon that was Pokemon Go. It’s not a real-world AR game, however; this one’s a strategy-battler where you control both a trainer and a Pokemon in a “sync pair” and take them into battle with two other pairings. But what are Pokemon Masters sync pairs, and what pairs do we know about right now? See below for the answers.

What are Pokemon Masters sync pairs?

Sync pairs are at the heart of Pokemon Masters‘ gameplay. Instead of the usual Pokemon idea of playing a trainer who goes around catching Pokemon and sending those Pokemon to fight, now the trainer gets involved with the battles too. Additionally, each trainer now only has one Pokemon, and both characters go into battle equally. These are sync pairs, and there are specific pairings in Pokemon Masters for you to find.

What sync pairs are there in the game?

Pokemon Masters Key Art

Here’s all the sync pairs we know about in Pokemon Masters. We’ll find a lot more out as we approach the release of the game, which is currently set for an unspecific date of summer 2019, so in the next 2-3 months probably.

The big question mark is the identity of the trainers on the right of the art above, who here (and in the gameplay trailer) seem to be commanding Pikachu. We suspect this may be a custom character who’s available in male and female versions. Here’s all the returning trainers and Pokemon we know for now:

  • Red and Charizard (from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver)
  • Brock and Onix (from Pokemon Red and Blue)
  • Misty and Starmie (from Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!)
  • Rosa and Snivy (from Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2)
  • Blue and Pidgeot (from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver)
  • Cynthia and Garchomp (from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl)
  • Iris and Haxorus (from Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2)
  • Clair and Kingdra (from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver)
  • Brendan and Treecko (from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire)
  • Flannery and Torkoal (from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire)
  • Thorton and Bronzong (from Pokemon Platinum Version)
  • Korrina and Lucario (from Pokemon X and Y)
  • Acerola and Palossand (from Pokemon Sun and Moon)
  • Barry and Piplup (from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl)
