The long-awaited return of Crash Team Racing is nearly upon us, as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 21, 2019. Of course, you’ll be wanting to know the full Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled character list before you pick a copy of the game up. Unfortunately, the complete CTR Nitro-Fueled character list is a little complicated. Thankfully, however, we’re here to let you know who all of the playable characters are in the hotly-anticipated remake. This includes the standard characters, the Nitro Kart characters, and upcoming DLC characters.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Character List | Crash Team Racing characters
To make things easier to digest for you, we’re splitting our list of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled characters into three sections for you. the game features all of the original Crash Team Racing characters, along with Nitro Kart characters, and Grand Prix Seasonal DLC characters. We’ll begin with the list of characters available from the original Crash Team Racing. These are as follows (racer type in brackets):

- Crash Bandicoot (Balanced)
- Dingodile (Speed)
- Dr. N. Gin (Acceleration)
- Dr. Neo Cortex (Balanced)
- Polar (Handling)
- Pura (Handling)

- Fake Crash (Balanced)
- Komodo Joe (Balanced)
- Nitros Oxide (Balanced)

The first eight of the above characters are all you’ll have available to you at the start of the game. You will need to unlock the rest of them by completing Time Trials and reaching milestones in Adventure Mode. If you purchase the more expensive Nitros Oxide Edition, however, you will have Nitros Oxide (along with Crunch Bandicoot, Zem, and Zam) available to you from the start.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Character List | Nitro Kart characters
As mentioned above, the list of characters is expanded by the Nitro Kart characters. You will have Crunch Bandicoot, Zem, and Zam (along with Nitros Oxide) available to you from the start if you purchase the Nitros Oxide Edition of the game. If you purchase the standard edition, however, every character here will need to be unlocked via reaching in-game milestones of various kinds:

- N. Trance (Acceleration)

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Character List | DLC characters
According to the PlayStation Blog, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be updated with free seasonal Grand Prix DLC after launch. This will include new playable characters, tracks, and more. Several of the DLC characters have been confirmed already. This all starts with the Nitro Tour Grand Prix, which begins on July 3, 2019. You will need to take part and earn enough Wumpa Coins and Nitro Points (earned by completing challenges) in order to buy the characters listed below during their respective Grand Prix Seasons.
