Since the surprise launch of Apex Legends, the hot new battle royale from the creators of Titanfall, earlier this year, players have been waiting patiently for the next big rollout of content for the game. The Apex Legends Season 1 event was revealed as coming soon a while ago, but EA and developer Respawn offered no more details than that. Finally today, at last, we have the Apex Legends Season 1 start time and a whole lot more.
We’ve got all the details on Apex Legends Season 1 Wild Frontier, including the new Legend, the new skins available, how much the Season 1 Battle Pass costs, what you get for signing up for it, and what Season 1 content you can get for free. Of course, we’ve got the official start time for Season 1 too, so let’s begin with that. Are you ready for the first season of Apex Legends?
What is the Apex Legends Season 1 start time?
There’s been a lot of speculation about when the Apex Legends Season 1 start time would be, but with little confirmation on the developer side. Today, at last, Respawn posted on Twitter when exactly Season 1 for Apex Legends would begin, and the Battle Pass will become available. The Apex Legends Season 1 start time is tomorrow, Tuesday March 19, at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET / 17:00 GMT. Be prepared.

Who is the new Legend?
Possibly the most exciting thing to come as part of Apex Legends Season 1 and the Battle Pass is the brand new playable Legend character, the 9th character in the game and the first to be added since it came out. There’s been a great deal of leaks, rumors, and speculation about new characters coming to Apex Legends, but the clear front-runner was the masked Octane. He had a load of details leaked, but what made him most likely to be part of Season 1 was the excellent piece of artwork above.
Well, not only is the artwork real, Octane is indeed the new Legend coming to the game as part of Season 1. We don’t have any specific details on what his abilities are just yet, since Respawn seem content in keeping us in the dark until Season 1 starts tomorrow. The leaks suggest he may have a power called “Stim,” which may allow him to move or do things faster, but that’s only a rumor. Other than that, we guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
How much is the Season 1 Battle Pass?
The Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass is based off other successful battle royale games, such as Fortnite, where the game is free but the Battle Pass is paid for, allowing you to earn more stuff as you go. There are two tiers of payment for the Battle Pass. The basic Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass cost is 950 Apex coins (the in-game currency), which is around $10/£8. This gains you access to the Battle Pass and its rewards, but you have to continuously play Apex Legends to make the most of it. If you want to get a head start on everyone else, and get a huge chunk of the Season 1 rewards without playing, you can buy the Battle Pass Bundle for 2800 Apex coins instead. This gets you the Battle Pass and unlocks the first 25 levels of it immediately, so you have access to the first 25 of 100 rewards straight away.
What do you get for buying the Battle Pass?
The first thing you get for buying the Battle Pass are three special Wild Frontier skins for Lifeline, Wraith, and Mirage. These are the Lifeline Revolutionary skin, the Wraith Survivor skin, and the Mirage Outlaw skin. These skins are only available in Season 1 and cannot be picked up for free, so you can’t get them at all without the Battle Pass. These are part of the Level 1 tier, so you’ll get them straight away. Part of the the bonus of being a Battle Pass customer.
After that, passing levels 2-100 in Season 1 will get you access to various different types of rewards. These include more skins, including one for new Legend Octane. Additionally, there are a lot of new weapon skins, XP boosts, character videos, Epic and Legendary Apex packs, and the first ever Apex Legends three-stage evolving Legendary Havoc weapon skin. You can even earn Apex coins on various levels, so you can get back some of the money you spent on the Battle Pass, or save it for the next season’s rewards. You still have to play and increase your Season 1 level in order to earn the rewards, however.
Are any of these rewards available for free?
Some of the Season 1 rewards will indeed be available for free, although the vast majority are only available through the Battle Pass. The free rewards include one Wild Frontier Legend skin, five Apex packs (normal ones, not Epic or Legendary), and 18 Wild Frontier stat trackers. By the looks of things on the Battle Pass page, the free Wild Frontier skin may be the one for Octane that you can see at the top of this page. You may be able to choose your free skin, but it’s certainly not all of them.
You can still increase your Season 1 level if you don’t own the Battle Pass, however. If you’re level 20, for example, and buy the basic Battle Pass, you’ll earn all the rewards up to level 20 immediately. Additionally, if you buy the Battle Pass bundle, you can add 25 levels to your current level, so in this case you’ll immediately shoot all the way to level 45. Not bad at all. Of course, you’ll have to buy it first.
