Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 Update Patch Notes – What’s Changed in the New Update?

The Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 update has just gone live and, with it, access to the Forge DLC, as well as a host of other bug fixes and changes. The new Tomb Raider update has also been, confusingly, twinned with the Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.07 update so there’s plenty to comb over in the Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 update patch notes.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 Update – Forge DLC and New Content

The first of seven DLC packs, The Forge, has been added to the game with the new update. Alongside that, there’s a new Challenge Tomb, The Forge of Destiny, plus the ability to play said Challenge Tomb with a friend in co-op mode, which is pretty nifty.

Speaking of Challenge Tombs, 1.07 and 1.08 brings a new dimension to tomb raiding, with Challenge Tombs now also accessible via Score Attack and Time Attack modes which, as the name implies, challenges you to beat friends’ scores by completing Challenge Tombs as quickly and as accurately as possible.

The patch notes, of which these can be found only on PS4 via the “Update History” section by hitting the Options button on the Shadow of the Tomb Raider tile also lists the fact that new trophies have come bolted with the DLC, which is nice. So, completionists, beware!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 Update – Patch Notes

While the official Square Enix update page doesn’t have the skinny on what else to expect from the mammoth 6 GB+ update, the PS4 Update History does refers to “bug fixes” in its version of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1.08 update patch notes. This may very well smooth out the rough edges on a game that generally runs well but can fall afoul of some dodgy animations and generally awkward and inconvenient glitches. We’ll update this post with the full (official) patch notes for both 1.07 and 1.08 as we get them.
