Is There a Fallout 76 Pip Boy Companion App?

Will we see a Fallout 76 Pip Boy companion app? That’s what a number of Bethesda fans are wondering ahead of the full release of the next instalment in the series. Fallout 4 had one, so can we expect to see Fallout 76 supported with a smartphone app too? Here’s what we know of this possibility so far.

Fallout 76 Pip Boy Companion App – What is it?

The Pip Boy companion app, which was made available on the Apple and Google Play app stores, was a smartphone app that allowed players to keep track of everything in the game. Whether you played on Xbox One, PS4, or PC, you could sync your data from the game to the app to see tonnes of information

Players were able to see their stats, inventory, map, radio, and holotape games on their mobile devices, even if they were on the go and away from their console or PC.

Fallout 76 Pip Boy Companion App – Will We Get One?

There’s plenty of confusion surrounding the potential for a companion app to be made for Fallout 76. The question has been posed many times on the Fallout 76 subreddit, but nobody really knows if it’s a feature that will be implemented.

One reply on this Reddit thread claimed that they had heard that a companion app was in development, but another in a separate thread stated that Pete Hines, vice president of Bethesda Softworks, had said there won’t be one. There’s very little evidence of Hines’ official stance lurking on the internet though, so we can’t verify this right now. It’s just whispers and hearsay at this point.

The Fallout forums are none the wiser too. Much like Reddit, numerous threads have argued that a Pip Boy app may or not be in development, with some claiming that it would lead to an uneven playing field if players could take advantage of it. We’ll be sure to update this story if we get confirmation on this in the future.
