The Far Cry 5 Well Done Challenge started with the beginning of the first Far Cry 5 Live Event. The Well Done Challenge tasks you to complete personal and community goals. If everyone meets the community challenge by the end of the Far Cry 5 Live Event, then players will get a special prize, so it’s in your best interest to contribute your time and effort. Here’s how to complete the Well Done Challenge in Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 5 Well Done Challenge: What are the Goals of the Live Event?
The overall goal of the challenge is to kill as many animals as you can with fire. However, you can’t use Molotov Cocktails or the Flamethrower, which makes it a little tricky.
The personal challenge for the event is to kill 20 animals. To beat the community goal though, Far Cry 5 players have to kill at least 150,000 animals before the live event ends on April 10.
Far Cry 5 Well Done Challenge: What are the Rewards for the Live Event?
There are two separate sets of rewards for the event. If you complete the Well Done Challenge personal goals, you get some Silver Bars, and when the event ends on April 10, you’ll get a special Prestige Flamethrower.
If the community can come together and finish the goal of 150,000 animals killed before April 10, everyone who participated gets a Flamebearer outfit that’s only available via this live event.
How to Complete the Far Cry 5 Well Done Challenge Without Flamethrowers or Molotovs
So the live event blocks you from using your go-to fire-starters in Far Cry 5: the Flamethrower and the Molotov Cocktail. If you want your kills to count in this, you’ll have to use other weapons to set these animals ablaze.
Luckily, there are a few more options open to you in the game if you need to start a fire. The following four methods have been tested and are proven to provide kills that count towards your Well Done Challenge goal.
- Shotgun Loaded with Incendiary Shells: You can buy incendiary shells in any shop if you’ve unlocked the Black Market perk. These shells are powerful and will ignite anything you blast them with. This was my favorite weapon to use during the challenge, though they do require you to get up close and personal.
- Bow Equipped with Incendiary Arrows: This combo is better if you prefer to attack from range. They’re more powerful than you’d think and it only takes a few to take down some of the stronger animals in Far Cry 5.
- Airplane Equipped with Incendiary Bombs: Some of the planes in Far Cry 5 can be equipped with devastating incendiary bombs. These are a bit overkill, but they get the job done.
- Blowtorch: If all else fails you can use your blowtorch to burn an animal to death. If you’re so hard up you, have to use this, your best bet is to try and weaken the beast with some regular gunfire first.
How to Sign Up for the Well Done Challenge Far Cry 5 Live Event
You don’t actually get automatically signed up for the Far Cry 5 live event. To start the Well Done Challenge you’ll need to opt-in using the following directions.
- Load your save and wait for the game to load.
- Open the menu.
- Scroll over to the Online tab.
- Select Live Events
- Accept the Quest
You can also return to this same screen to check on your personal progress and see how far the community is towards reaching their goal.
