A Way Out Friend Pass: How to Invite and Play With Friends That Don’t Own the Game

A Way Out is innovative in many ways. One of its biggest groundbreaking features, though, is the ability to invite and play co-op with a friend who doesn’t own the game, no jail-breaking required. To do that, you need to use the Friend Pass Free Trial, but that’s easier said than done. Here’s how to invite and play with friends who don’t own A Way Out.

A Way Out: How to Invite Friends With Friend Pass

To send the A Way Out Friend Pass Free Trial, you need to first, actually own the game, then press the ‘Play Online’ button on the main menu and then select ‘Invite a Friend’. Once you’ve clicked that, you’ll have the option to choose a friend from your respective platform’s friends list, be it PS4, Xbox One or Steam.

Your friend will then get a message to download A Way Out free trial. Once that is done, set up a lobby and invite your friend; you are then free to go to prison with your buddy. Enjoy!

To play A Way Out co-op without a disc you need to have a friend who already owns A Way Out to send you the Friend Pass Free Trial (see above for instructions). Once that has been completed, you’ll need to download the Free Trial. On PS4, you have to download the demo via the PSN store, on Xbox click ‘Try it for Free’ on the game hub page of A Way Out and, on Origin, you’ll have to press ‘Play With Friend Pass.’

If that’s all been pulled off without a hitch, the only thing that needs to be done is for the player that originally owns the game (and the one who sent out the Friend Pass) to set up a lobby. From there, you can invite the player who received the A Way Out Friend Pass Free Trial and you’re then able to play the full game, once they’ve accepted the invite.
